Episode Transcript:

You are listening to episode 13 of the Level Up Your Wedding Film Business Podcast. Today, I I’ve got my friend Kathryn from BLNK Films on the show to talk about something she does with excellence, and that’s infusing yourself and your personality into your business. And how that can truly benefit you.

I’m your host, Taylor Petrinovich, and at the core of this show I want you to feel inspired to take your business to the next level, and I want to give you tools and practical advice to help you along the way. Let’s Level-Up together.

I’ve said this before on the podcast, but it’s definitely worth repeating, especially given the topic of today’s episode. And that is the fact that clients are far more likely to book a vendor that they feel connected to. I actually have a statistic here, and it says that 64% of consumers say their loyalty and desire to purchase a product, or in our case, hire us for a service, increases when they feel personally connected to that brand.

I think it’s pretty clear that our goal should be to build some sort of personal connection with our potential clients. And an extremely effective way of doing that is simply by becoming the face of your brand. To stop hiding behind a logo and images of your couples, and put yourself a little more front and center when it comes to your website and branding in general.

Today’s episode is an interview with my friend Kathryn over at BLNK films.

Kathryn Majic is the wedding and elopement videographer behind Blnk Films. Based in Denver, Colorado, she started Blnk Films in 2017 immediately upon graduating college and hasn’t looked back since. Since launching her business, it has been Kathryn’s mission to produce films that break the mold of what wedding films “should be”, creating work that is a raw and intimate look into the couple and their love story, beyond the simple documentation of a wedding day. Kathryn is an incredibly passionate filmmaker, and it’s evident that she strives to make each couple’s film a true reflection of them.

In order to hear all the amazing things Kathryn and I talked about, you’ll have to listen to the episode. Find it embedded above, or by searching “Level Up Your Wedding Film Business Podcast” in your favorite podcasting app. This is Episode 13.

I hope you guys enjoyed listening to my conversation with Kathryn. I’m going to give a few key takeaways from this episode, but first I want to tell you where you can find Kathryn and her film studio if you want to learn more about her.

You can find Kathryn at @blnkfilms on Instagram, and I will link her website and her YouTube channel in the show notes as well.

I have a few key takeaways from this episode. The first, is that it all starts in having confidence in yourself and what you have to offer. Own who you are, and be confident that there are clients out there who love what you stand for, and love your style. Be true to yourself and your own way of doing things, and that will get you a lot farther in this career than trying to imitate other people in the industry.

If you’re enjoying the podcast, I’d love it if you would leave me a review wherever you’re listening. Those reviews go a long way in helping other filmmakers find the podcast and It’s my hope that I can help as many people as possible.

And Until next time, friends, just keep pushing forward.
